It is not every day that a world record is set by actors, but Hugh Jackman appears to have done just that. The Australian actor entered the Guinness Book of Records for his role as Wolverine, the Marvel superhero. He was honored on February 20, for having the longest career playing this particular role. Jackman has Longest Career as a Live Action Marvel Superhero
Jackman was honored for setting the record for Longest Career as a Live Action Marvel Superhero. The Wolverine actor received this surprise on the British TV show, This Morning. Jackman has notably played the character of Wolverine for 16 years and 228 days and shares this honor with Sir Patrick Stewart who portrayed Professor Charles Xavier or Professor X for the same time period.

Presented with certificate and co-star's greetings, Jackman lives the dream
Jackman was presented with the certificate commemorating his entry into the Guinness Book of Records. The editor in chief of Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday, himself gave the certificate to Jackman. At the end of the presentation, co-star and fellow record holder, Stewart told a surprised Jackman in a video greeting, "Congratulations my friend -- there's another thing to hang on your wall".
Jackman had always wanted to enter Guinness Book of Record
Jackman, upon receiving this honor, gushed about how he had always wanted a spot in the Guinness Book of Records as a child. He said, "When I was a kid, the Guinness Book of Records was it... That's it, I've made it! This is why I got into showbiz, thank you". The actor added how he and his brother tried making records as kids.
Jackson describes his childhood dream of being in Guinness Book
Jackson continued, "My dream as a kid, both my brother and I, was to be in the Guinness Book of Records one day. We tried to stay up and play badminton for 48 hours, we tried to flip coins off our elbow...".
