'Super 30' team had to change script 13 times
Hrithik Roshan's Super 30 has been in the pipeline for a long time. Based on mathematician Anand Kumar's life, the movie portrays why he provides free coaching to the needy to crack IIT. Recently its trailer got released; however many felt Hrithik's accent was fake and his complexion was tanned. Also, did you know that the script was revamped 13 times because of Anand?
Anand: The script was changed 13 times because of me
Talking about the script, Anand appreciated the Super 30 team for letting him work freely until he was convinced. "I had a few conditions: only once I approve the script, the film will be made and the actor, director, and music director will be of my choice," he said in an interview. He added how the script was revised "13 times because of me."
Anand: Hrithik has got the exact language and skin tone
After watching Vikas Bahl's Queen, Anand was impressed by his work and "that's how he came on board for this film." Addressing the criticism on Hrithik's tanned look, he said the actor did total justice to his middle-class persona. "Hrithik did work a lot on getting his look and language right. He has got the exact language and (skin) tone," said Anand.
Separately, four IITians filed PIL against Anand last September
However, the movie is not without trouble. Last year in September, four IIT-Guwahati students, Avinash Baro, Bikash Das, Monjit Doley and Dhaniram Taw registered a PIL against Anand accusing him of fraud and spreading false success stories of his students. Senior advocate Ashok Saraf, who appeared for the IITians, further said that Kumar has been cheating students.
Anand denies taking any extra charge for classes
"Kumar makes the students take admission in his coaching institute, namely Ramanujam School of Mathematics, by charging Rs. 33,000 per student in the name of teaching them," Saraf told India Today. However, Anand denied all the claims and said that he never accepted donations from anyone. "I only want to do good work in the field of education," he said in the interview.
'Super 30' is slated to release on July 12, 2019
Meanwhile, the Guwahati High Court has asked Anand to revert on the PIL, but the mathematician is yet to respond. Apart from Hrithik, Super 30 also has stars like Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Tripathi, and Johnny Lever. The movie is set for a July 12 release.
