Tiger inspired me to get in shape for 'War': Hrithik
Hrithik Roshan's long-pending silver screen comeback Super 30 was a commercial success, but the film eventually took a toll on the actor's fitness. The 45-year-old actor recently admitted that he gained as much as 8 inches around his waist for his role as mathematician Anand Kumar. However, it was none other than Tiger Shroff who motivated his "idol" to get back in shape.
Working with Tiger inspired me to lose weight: Hrithik
Hrithik, who is currently gearing up for his upcoming film, War, said that his co-star Tiger Shroff served as an inspiration for his transformation after Super 30. "After I did Super 30, I had gained a lot of weight. My waist size was around 38 inches. Working with Tiger inspired me to lose weight and make it 30 again," Hrithik told news agency IANS.
Separately, Tiger and Hrithik have not been promoting 'War' together
Meanwhile, in an interesting promotional gimmick, Tiger and Hrithik, who are pitched against each other in the film, have not been promoting the movie together. "War pitches two of the biggest action superstars in this huge showdown and we want audiences to see Hrithik and Tiger together, for the first time only on the big screen," film's director Siddharth Anand said.
"They will not share the same stage during film promotions"
"Hrithik and Tiger have fought each other mercilessly (in the film) and we wanted to translate this on-screen rivalry into an off-screen conversation point. They will not share the same stage during the promotions of the film," the filmmaker further added.
Both Hrithik and Tiger have been appreciating each other's work
Notably, both Hrithik and Tiger have been quite vocal in praising each other. Hrithik, who reportedly suggested Tiger for the role opposite himself, said that, "Only he (Tiger) will be able to stand in front of me." On the other hand, Tiger, who considers himself Hrithik's "fan" said, "I respect him more after my personal interaction with him on sets of our action film."
'War': The high-octane action thriller will release on October 2
