Weight-lifting, fitness drills: Inside Randeep Hooda's intense preparation for 'Jaat'
What's the story
Actor Randeep Hooda has undergone a remarkable physical transformation for his upcoming film, Jaat.
The actor gained eight kg of muscle mass to play a ruthless gangster named Ranatunga.
Hooda's first look was revealed in a teaser, giving a glimpse into his new avatar.
The film, directed by Gopichand Malineni, stars Sunny Deol in the lead.
Training
Hooda's rigorous training and diet for 'Jaat'
Reportedly, Hooda trained for 11 months before commencing the shoot last September.
His routine involved heavy weight-lifting, functional fitness drills, and combat-style workouts.
A source told Mid-Day, "Randeep's daily regimen consisted of intense weight-lifting, functional fitness drills, and combat-style workouts designed to enhance agility and power."
"Along with his trainer Durgesh Gudilu, he focused on compound movements like deadlifts, squats, and bench presses, ensuring his frame carried the imposing presence required for the character."
Transformation
'Jaat' character transformation: From look to dialect
Hooda's transformation for Jaat went beyond physical changes. The styling team and director Malineni imagined Ranatunga as a rustic gangster from Haryana.
This was realized with a bulky body, grimy look, unkempt hair and aggressive body language.
To nail his Haryanvi accent, Hooda trained with a dialect coach for 12 weeks.
The movie also stars Regina Cassandra and Saiyami Kher and will release on April 10.
