National Film Awards: How much cash prize will winners receive
The winners of the 70th National Film Awards were announced on Friday. Among the awardees were several Bollywood celebrities, including Neena Gupta, Arijit Singh, and Ayan Mukerji (Best Film in AVGC: Brahmastra). Apart from the prestigious titles, these winners will also receive cash prizes. Here's a look at how much money they'll be awarded.
Swarna Kamal and Rajat Kamal winners to receive cash prizes
According to The Indian Express, winners of the Swarna Kamal or Golden Lotus (Best Film, Debut Film, Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Director, and Best Children's Film) will receive a cash prize of ₹3 lakh. Meanwhile, the Rajat Kamal (awarded for Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social, and Environmental Values, all acting categories, best screenplay, music, etc.) winners will receive ₹2 lakh.
Mukerji, Sooraj Barjatya among Swarna Kamal winners
Mukerji, along with the producers of his film Brahmastra (Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, Starlight Pictures), and director Sooraj R Barjatya are among the Swarna Kamal winners. They will reportedly each receive a cash prize of ₹3 lakh. Gupta and Singh, who won Best Supporting Actress and Best Male Playback Singer respectively, are among the Rajat Kamal winners and will receive ₹2 lakh each.
Manoj Bajpayee gets special mention, no cash prize
Actor Manoj Bajpayee received a special mention for his performance in the film Gulmohar. However, he will reportedly not be receiving any monetary prize. Instead, he will be awarded certificates. The National Film Awards ceremony, which honors movies and artists across languages for their commendable work in films certified in 2022, will be held in October. The President will present the awards at this event.
