Irrfan-starrer 'Hindi Medium 2' gets a new director
The sequel of 2017 superhit 'Hindi Medium' was announced a while back by the makers. Divulging more about the project, the producers have now revealed that Homi Adajania will direct the Irrfan Khan-starrer. Homi will step into the shoes of Saket Chaudhary who helmed the first installment. Here's all about it.
Homi found the script amusing yet emotional
'Hindi Medium 2' will take a 10-year leap in the story and Homi is pretty excited to take over as the director. He has earlier directed films like 'Being Cyrus', 'Cocktail' and 'Finding Fanny.' No other actor apart from Irrfan has been confirmed for the film yet. However, there is a strong buzz that Sara Ali Khan will play Khan's daughter in the sequel.
Producer Dinesh Vijan is all praises for Homi
Dinesh said, "Homi doesn't make films very often as he refuses to do stuff that doesn't bowl him over. But when we narrated this one to him, he loved it. And when we saw his reaction, it was a no-brainer!"
'Hindi Medium' was a game-changer of sorts
The Saket Chaudhary directorial was hugely lapped up by the audience. The film might have taken a slow start at the box-office but ended up making over Rs. 60 crore at the box-office, courtesy its content. Not only it fared well at the ticket windows, 'Hindi Medium' also won Irrfan the Best Actor trophy.
