CBFC issues UA certificate to Ajith Kumar-starrer 'Valimai's Hindi version
Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's fans are eagerly awaiting more updates on his much-awaited film, Valimai, as its release gets closer. And, the latest news about the film is the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared its Hindi version with a UA certificate. Also, this version will have a total runtime of two hours and 59 minutes—one minute more than its Tamil version.
Why does this story matter?
Though AK has a massive fan base in Tamil Nadu, Valimai is interestingly his first-ever pan-India release. While this by itself is exciting news for the fans of the Viswasam star, updates about its other language versions have also been making headlines. To recall, the film's co-producer Boney Kapoor earlier confirmed that, apart from Tamil, Valimai will release in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, too.
15 cuts were recommended for 'Valimai's Tamil version?
Currently, there are no details available about how many cuts were recommended for Valimai's Hindi version. Earlier, reports about its Tamil version's CBFC certification in December last year said that the Board had given it a UA certificate and also suggested about 15 cuts. And, the fact that the Hindi version is a minute longer than the Tamil one comes as an expected update!
All you need to know about 'Valimai'
Valimai has been bankrolled by Kapoor along with Zee Studios. H Vinoth, who had helmed AK's previous venture Nerkonda Paarvai, has directed this cop drama, too. Besides AK, the film stars Huma Qureshi as the leading lady, while Kartikeya Gummakonda plays the main antagonist. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed music for this upcoming flick set to be released on February 24.
Have AK and Vinoth watched 'Valimai' ahead of release?
Separately, a recent picture of AK with director Vinoth and audiographer Rajakrishnan has been making the rounds on social media. Reports suggest Ajith and Vinoth were directly overseeing the film's post-production work, which was when the photo was clicked. We can see Valimai's logo on a screen in the background. So, it is being speculated the duo has watched the movie ahead of release.
