Himesh Reshammiya's father Vipin (87) dies due to age-related issues
Vipin Reshammiya, the father of popular singer and music composer Himesh Reshammiya, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 87. He had been battling health problems and was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Vipin was reportedly suffering from breathing issues and age-related health problems. The news was confirmed by the family's close friend, Vanita Thapar. May he rest in peace.
Vipin's last rites to be held in Juhu
Vipin's last rites will be held on Thursday in Juhu, Mumbai. Speaking to ETimes, Thapar said, "Yes, he had a breathing problem. He was in Kokilaben and passed away today at 8.30pm." She further added, "I am a family friend, more like family. I used to call him papa since the time he was making TV serials."
Vipin's notable career in music and film industry
Vipin had a significant career as a producer and music director. He worked on films such as The Xpose (2014) and Teraa Surroor (2016), both of which starred Himesh. Himesh once revealed that his father and Salman Khan were about to collaborate on a film, leading to Himesh's introduction to the actor and his subsequent break as a music director in Salman-Kajol's 1998 film Jab Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.
When Himesh spoke about his father's unreleased song
In 2021, Himesh spoke about his father on Indian Idol 12. He posted a video on Instagram then in which he talked about how his father had composed a song with late singers Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar which was never released. He had captioned the post, "My dad's composer Vipin Reshammiya had composed a beautiful track quite a few years back sung by the legendary Lataji and Kishore Kumar ji. Unfortunately, it couldn't be released then."
