SRK walks out of Rakesh Sharma's biopic: Here's why
After the debacle of his last release Zero, looks like Shah Rukh Khan is introspecting his film choices now. The superstar, who was supposed to be a part of astronaut Rakesh Sharma's upcoming biopic (titled as Saare Jahaan Se Achha), walked out of the project recently. Reportedly, instead of Sharma's biopic, he is now focusing on the much-awaited third installment of his Don franchise.
The biopic was supposed to go on floors next month
According to the media reports, Saare Jahaan Se Achha was next in line for SRK after Anand Rai's Zero. In fact, it was reported that the biopic would be hitting the floors next month with SRK portraying the astronaut on the big screen. This isn't all. He was also said to be producing the movie along with producer Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Previously, SRK was excited about the movie
Notably, SRK had himself announced that he would be a part of the movie during one of his interviews, and he seemed quite excited about it. He had also thanked Aamir Khan for recommending him for the movie. "I thank Aamir for telling me about the role as it would suit me. I will try and spend time with Rakesh Sharma," SRK had stated.
But, now he chooses 'Don 3' over Rakesh Sharma's biopic
While SRK's sudden exit from Saare Jahaan Se Achha has left everyone surprised, it is reported that the actor chose Don 3 over the biopic. According to the media reports, the Dilwale actor is looking forward to the third installment of his super hit Don franchise. In fact, SRK will, reportedly, begin shooting for Don 3 in the second half of this year.
Earlier, Aamir had left Rakesh Sharma's biopic
Interestingly, SRK isn't the first actor to leave Saare Jahaan Se Achha. Earlier, it was offered to Thugs of Hindostan actor Aamir Khan. However, Aamir backed out of the project owing to work commitments. In fact, post his exit, Aamir had suggested SRK to take up this project. Now after SRK's exit, we wonder about the new lead.
