Even before hitting the theaters, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala has been the talk of the town ever since its trailer came out. One reason behind its popularity can be credited to the lead man, who brings forth another non-conventional hero figure. This time, the catch is that he has little hair to cover his head. Here's how Ayushmann transformed into Bala.

The makers of the upcoming comedy movie have now released a video showcasing how Ayushmann aced the bald look for the film. It shows Ayushmann, surrounded by a bunch of makeup artists, sculpting the perfect sized wig for his troubled character. It also reveals how different looks of Ayushmann in the movie were brought alive for the big screen.

'Bala' set to release on November 7
Directed by Amar Kaushik (Stree), Bala is a small-town comedy drama, portraying the story of a young man in his 20s (Ayushmann), suffering from premature balding (alopecia), and how the condition affects his daily life. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar, Yami Gautam, Saurabh Shukla, Javed Jaffrey, Seema Pahwa and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles. It is set to release on November 7.
However, the movie has been marred with several controversies
Initially, Bala received a lot of flak over Bhumi's brownface. The film also angered the producers of Abhishek Pathak-directorial Ujda Chaman, which touches upon the same subject. Consequently, the release date of Ujda.. was advanced by one week. The makers were also accused by Dr. Zeus of plagiarising his music for song Don't Be Shy Again. Sony Music India, later, credited the original artist.
Ayushmann to also feature in 'Gulabo Sitabo', 'Shubh Mangal' sequel
Apart from Bala, Ayushmann will soon appear in Shoojit Sircar's family drama Gulabo Sitabo, also featuring Amitabh Bachchan. He will then appear in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, wherein he is portraying a homosexual character. It is slated to release on March 13, 2020.
