Has Chiranjeevi started filming for 'Mega 154' in Hyderabad?
Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi has reportedly joined the sets of his upcoming film, tentatively titled Mega 154, in Hyderabad. Directed by KS Ravindra aka Bobby, the project is being bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Earlier, reports have suggested that the makers were considering naming the film Waltair Veerayya, but nothing is confirmed so far. Devi Sri Prasad is aboard to compose music for the film.
Why does this story matter?
It has been more than two years since we saw Chiranjeevi on big screens. The 2019 historical period drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was his last theatrical outing. So, naturally, this comes as exciting news for his fans who are desperately waiting to see him in action. Also, it has been years since we saw him in khaki. In gist, please bring it on!
Who else will feature in the film?
Apart from Chiranjeevi, the film will co-star Shruti Haasan. She was welcomed by the star actor earlier this month and she thanked him on social media for "the wonderful welcome." Previously, reports said Ravi Teja aka "Mass Maharaja" will essay the character of Chiranjeevi's brother in the film. Though makers have not confirmed it, hearsay has that Teja will join the sets in April.
Where else will we see Chiranjeevi?
This will be Teja and Chiranjeevi's third collaboration after Annayya and Shankar Dada Zindabad. The movie will reportedly be shot in the backdrop of Sri Lanka, too. Separately, a few days ago, Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan finished shooting for the latter's cameo in Mohan Raja-helmed Godfather, which is the Tollywood remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer. Chiranjeevi also has Bholaa Shankar co-starring Keerthy Suresh.
Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya' to release next month
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi will be next seen in Koratala Siva's Acharya. The Telugu film has Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady, while his son Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde will be seen in cameo appearances. Touted to be a social drama, it was supposed to release in February, but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed back that plan. It's now scheduled for a release on April 29.
