'Actors over-talk': Harshvardhan Rane on why he avoids podcasts
What's the story
Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane recently revealed why he stays away from podcasts.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Sanam Teri Kasam star said he believes actors over-talk on such platforms.
He humorously described this tendency by saying, "Waah humne kya baat bol diya (Wow, what an amazing thing I have said)."
Podcast skepticism
Rane questioned the effectiveness of podcasts for film promotion
Rane further elaborated on his skepticism toward podcasts as a promotional tool for films.
He suggested that these platforms can be "psychologically sufficing," leading participants to say random things that may not necessarily increase audience turnout for their upcoming movies.
"There are so many instances where a great podcast happened but no one went to watch the film being promoted through them," he stated.
Conversion focus
'Would jump out of this window if it benefited me...'
The actor also stressed his focus on conversion, or how a promotional activity can convert into something tangible.
If people ask him to appear on a podcast, his reaction is to ask, "Conversion kitna hota hai? (How much is the conversion?)" and if there is no answer, he does not do it.
He humorously said, "I would jump out of this window if it benefited me in some way."
