Harsh Gujral deletes 'The Escape Room' episodes amid 'IGL' row
What's the story
In the wake of the ongoing controversy over Ranveer Allahbadia's comments on Samay Raina's YouTube show India's Got Latent, comedian Harsh Gujral has deleted all episodes of his own YouTube show, The Escape Room.
This comes after Raina deleted all episodes of India's Got Latent from his channel.
Gujral's show, which premiered in December 2024 and aired only two episodes before their removal, explored dark humor and explicit jokes.

'The Escape Room' format and Gujral's silence
The Escape Room had a unique segment where participants anonymously shared their deepest secrets.
According to the show's description on BookMyShow, it was "about escape from the idealistic world where few selected people will come and share the darkest and funniest confessions from their lives with Escape Master, Harsh Gujral."
The audience was promised "the strangest, weirdest, and darkest confessions from real human beings."
Meanwhile, Gujral is yet to comment on why he deleted his show's episodes.

Gujral also made show's Instagram account private
Along with taking down The Escape Room episodes from YouTube, Gujral has also made the show's Instagram account private. The account has over 34.3K followers at present. His personal account remains public though.
The move comes amid the controversy surrounding India's Got Latent, which drew flak over a controversial remark made by podcaster Allahbadia on the show.

'IGL' controversy snowballed into national outrage
The controversial comment made by Allahbadia on India's Got Latent, which also featured other content creators like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija (popularly known as The Rebel Kid), has sparked national outrage.
Despite the episode being deleted, the controversy escalated to such an extent that it was discussed in Parliament and led to a police case against 30-40 people.
Official statements
Raina and Allahbadia responded to the controversy
After the controversial episode was pulled down from YouTube, Raina released a statement claiming that he had pulled down all videos of his show and was "fully cooperating" with authorities.
"Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time," he said.
Meanwhile, Allahbadia also apologized in a video claiming that his comments were not "just inappropriate but also not even funny."
