Hansal Mehta wanted Sridevi to star in his next
Most of the prolific filmmakers wanted to work with Sridevi but, unfortunately, their wish won't come true now. One of them was director Hansal Mehta who had a script in mind that would have been apt for the late actress. However, he has now decided to make it without her but will dedicate the film to India's first female superstar.
A film about womanhood
Talking about the film, Mehta said that the story revolves around a woman who discovers womanhood late in her life. "The film is an adaptation of a Chinese novel. It has a beautiful story. I felt it would be wonderful to do it with Sridevi. I had thought of narrating the idea to her, but she passed away. It was shocking," he said.
He is on a look out for another actress now
The 'Simran' director will now pay a tribute to Sridevi with the project. He is currently looking for another actress to the play the lead. Sridevi, 54, died of accidental drowning in her Dubai hotel room bathtub. Her sudden demise shocked her family, friends and fans alike. She last appeared in 2017 hit film 'Mom'.
