'Gullak' season 3 trailer: Mishra family returns with heartfelt anecdotes
One of the most heartwarming web shows of the present time, Gullak is coming back with its third season. Ahead of its premiere, SonyLIV dropped the trailer for this edition on Tuesday evening. And it showed, the Mishra family will return with the "gullak" of their fair share of day-to-day tales and nostalgic anecdotes once more. Here's a breakdown of the trailer.
Why does this story matter?
Debuting in June 2019, the first season of Gullak was marketed as an antithesis to usual contemporary tales from North India, which focus on lawlessness and violence. Viewers soon resonated with the relatable issues that the Mishra family dealt with on a daily basis and the show was renewed for a second season. Finally, SonyLIV announced the arrival of third season in February 2022.
What does the trailer show us?
The trailer ushers us back into the lives of the middle-class family comprising parents Santosh and Shanti Mishra, and their sons Annu and Aman, but we notice a good change. While the family appears the same, criticizing the meaning behind "miscellaneous fees," there's some happy news. Now, there are two salary savings account holders in the family as Annu finally gets a job.
And this is the conflict in the story
But not everything is running smoothly, which again is the story of every middle-class family. Troubles arrive when Santosh gets suspended from his job. We're shown that maybe his refusal to stand with the workers' union and getting involved in office politics has led to this. Yet, between these tough and easy times in life, the Mishras will find the will to go on.

What do we know of the show?
As the tagline of the show goes: "These aren't stories, but unique anecdotes," Gullak season three, like its previous seasons, will focus on the everyday experiences of the small-town household. Directed by Palash Vaswani, it stars Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Harsh Mayar, and Sunita Rajwar.
OTT clash: It's 'Gullak' v/s 'Dasvi' on April 7
The third season of Gullak will hit SonyLIV on April 7. Also on the same day, Abhishek Bachchan-led Dasvi is coming to Netflix and JioCinema. He plays an uneducated politician named Ganga Ram Chaudhary who wills to pass matriculation from inside a jail in the film. Its trailer was dropped on Wednesday. The Tushar Jalota directorial also stars Yami Gautam Dhar and Nimrat Kaur.
