'Game of Thrones' star Richard Madden might play James Bond
The James Bond films have Daniel Craig playing the titular character, and the 50-year-old will reprise his role as the suave British spy in the upcoming movie 'Bond 25'. However, the franchise is looking for another Bond after Craig and 'Game of Thrones' star Richard Madden, famous for portraying Robb Stark, might be stepping into the role. The top of the list for Madden
It was rumored that after Craig, Idris Elba would be the next Bond, marking the first time a black actor would play the British spy. Notable names like Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy were also in the running for the role. However, producer Barbara Broccoli has reportedly zeroed in on Madden who tops her list and is prepared to offer him the coveted part.
Madden desires the role of Bond
Broccoli's decision spells good news for Madden, whose father revealed last month, that the actor was interested in playing Bond. He said, Madden wanted Bond's role to be on his CV but he was not making a big deal out of it. The young actor apparently has ideas about things he would like to do when it comes to Bond or any major role.
No changes in spy characters
In recent times, there has also been a rumor that a woman might play Bond. However, choosing Madden proves these rumors baseless. Notably, Broccoli had firmly denied the possibility of a woman playing Bond. She said that she could see stories being written for strong female characters or even a female Bond director, but Bond himself would have to be a male.
