The first song of 'Gold' dropped a short while ago, and we couldn't help but notice that Akshay Kumar may just land himself in trouble by the end of it, in the movie. The song titled 'Chad Gayi Hai', features the superstar acing the drunkard act but visuals also hint there is a sinister reason behind getting him jolly. We wonder what that is!
What we learned about 'Gold' from its first song
The song starts with Akshay Kumar being invited to 'entertain' guests at a gathering, which he does by dancing like crazy. He keeps gulping alcohol, picks his lungi, and unapologetically embarrasses his on-screen wife Mouni Roy. But, it's the sly smiles of people around him which have convinced us that after the song ends, Kumar is surely getting into a lot of trouble.
Akshay Kumar is a teetotaller, but reel life is different
That is the beauty of acting that it makes us believe the uncertain. In real life, Akshay Kumar is a teetotaller, someone who stays miles away from alcohol. But no one can make that from 'Chad Gayi Hai', where he shows alcohol can really control his life. It's also safe to say if we find someone like him in a party, we'd prefer distance.
'Gold' will hit screens this Independence Day
Inspired by real-life events of India's journey to clinch the first Olympic medal, 'Gold' is directed by Reema Kagti. It will release on August 15 and stars Amit Sadh, Kunal Roy Kapur, and Vineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles.
