Vijay's salary for 'GOAT' is nearly half the film's budget!
The Tamil sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) hit theaters on Thursday, marking Thalapathy Vijay's highly-anticipated return to the big screen. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT tells the story of Gandhi, a former spy from the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS). The film has generated significant buzz thanks to its star-studded cast, high production budget, and hefty salaries of its actors.

Vijay is portraying a dual role in GOAT, playing both Gandhi and his son Jeevan. The film, with a substantial budget of ₹400 crore reportedly, is among the most expensive Tamil productions of the year 2024. The ensemble cast includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha (Suhasini Rajaram Naidu), Laila (Meenakshi Chaudhary), Vaibhav Reddy, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran.

Vijay's remuneration for his role in GOAT has been disclosed by producer Archana Kalpathi in an interview with Galatta. The actor reportedly received a staggering ₹200 crore, which constitutes nearly 50% of the film's total budget. Deva, renowned for his dance and acting skills, plays a vital role in GOAT and earned ₹2 crore for his contribution. Actor Prashanth received ₹75 lakh while veteran actor Jayaram was paid ₹50 lakh.
Director Prabhu's remuneration for 'GOAT'
Meanwhile, Sneha, the female lead opposite Vijay, reportedly received ₹30 lakh for her role. Ajmal Ameer and Mohan were compensated with ₹50 lakh and ₹40 lakh respectively for their roles in the film. Director Prabhu, collaborating with Vijay for the first time on this project, received ₹10 crore for his direction. His vision and execution are expected to be central to the film's success.
