Vijay's 'GOAT' predicted to earn ₹100cr on opening day
The highly anticipated Tamil film GOAT, starring Thalapathy Vijay, hit the screens on Thursday. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film is predicted to rake in nearly ₹100 crore worldwide on its opening day alone! Trade tracker Ramesh Bala told NewsX that the collections in Tamil Nadu are expected to be equally impressive with a gross collection of around ₹30 crore.
'GOAT' anticipated to be highest opener in Tamil Nadu
Bala further added that these figures will match those of Rajinikanth's Jailer due to a similar release pattern. "It has already beaten Indian 2 in advance sales alone and will be the highest opener of the year in Tamil Nadu," he told NewsX. GOAT features Vijay in a double role, adding to its appeal. The cast also includes Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Mohan Vaibhav Reddy, and Prabhu Deva. It is Vijay's penultimate film before he ventures into politics full-time.
'GOAT' has a lengthy runtime
The music for GOAT has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, renowned for his work on Raam. Moreover, the makers have added a three-minute-long video at the end credits. With this addition, the movie's runtime has been extended to three hours and three minutes. This makes it the second longest film in Vijay's career, after the 2012 film Nanban, which had a duration of three hours and eight minutes.
