'GOAT' unlikely to cross ₹300cr mark; earns ₹251.4cr after Day-25
Thalapathy Vijay's latest Tamil flick, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), is reportedly having a tough time crossing the ₹300cr mark at the Indian box office. Though it set records by quickly surpassing the ₹100cr and ₹200cr milestones, the movie's earnings have taken a hit. After 25 days in theaters, it's just over ₹250cr domestically, making it seem unlikely to join the exclusive ₹300cr club in India.
'GOAT' shines globally with ₹450cr+ earnings
Despite some hiccups at home, GOAT has been smashing records worldwide, pulling in over ₹450cr globally. The movie hit theaters on September 5 in three languages: Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. As per Bollywoodmoviereviewz.com, GOAT's net collection on Sunday stands at ₹1.4cr, while the worldwide gross collection is at ₹2.2cr. That brings the Indian total net collection to ₹251.4cr and gross worldwide earnings to an eye-popping ₹458 crore!
'GOAT' plot and star-studded cast
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT tells the story of a spy agent working for the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS). The agent is pulled back into service for a critical mission that intertwines with his past. The film features an ensemble cast including Vijay, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth Thyagarajan, Sneha Prasanna, Prabhu Deva, and Mohan. Trisha Krishnan, MS Dhoni and Sivakarthikeyan also make cameo appearances in this action-packed thriller.
'GOAT' to make digital debut on Netflix
Along with its theatrical run, GOAT is also gearing up for a Netflix premiere. While there's no official word yet, reports suggest the film will start streaming on October 3. This is yet another feather in Vijay's cap as he keeps winning hearts with his performances. His next project, Thalapathy 69, was announced earlier and is already creating a buzz among fans.
