Box office: Vijay's 'GOAT' crosses ₹200cr mark
Vijay-starrer GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) has crossed the ₹200 crore mark at the box office. The film, which was released on September 5, had a strong opening weekend, and despite a slowdown during weekdays, it picked up again, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT is expected to continue its momentum in the coming days as well.
'GOAT' is the strongest in Tamil Nadu
According to Sacnilk, GOAT grossed around ₹15 crore on Sunday, out of which over ₹13 crore came from Tamil Nadu alone. Overall, GOAT has grossed over ₹213 crore in 11 days and is now inching closer to the ₹300 crore mark. The film, which features Vijay in dual roles, also stars Sneha, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal, and Jayaram. It's Vijay's penultimate film before he ventures into politics full-time.
Vijay prepares for his final film: 'Thalapathy 69'
Vijay's final project will be the tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, to be directed by H Vinoth. On Saturday, the makers unveiled the first poster on social media, writing, "The torch bearer of Democracy is arriving on Oct 2025." The film is expected to be a political drama and may also star Simran. It will release in October 2025.
