In his celebrated career, Aamir Khan has played a cop, inventor, teacher and the world's toughest dad. He will now be seen playing a caricaturish big-shot music director in 'Secret Superstar,' a film that follows a teenage girl who has dreams of becoming a famous singer. The film is written and directed by Advait Chandan, and produced by Aamir. It releases on October 19.
What is the film about?
The film revolves around Insu (played by 'Dangal' actress Zaira Wasim), a teenage girl who gets inspired by music director Shakti Kumar (Aamir) and wants to become a famous singer. Her musical dreams are held back by her strict and orthodox father. She wears a burkha to hide her identity and uploads videos of her singing on YouTube, which go viral.
