Even before release, sequel confirmed for Brad Pitt-George Clooney's 'Wolfs'
Apple Original Films has announced a sequel to the George Clooney and Brad Pitt-starrer Wolfs, which is set to premiere at the 81st Venice Film Festival. The tech giant has also altered its release strategy for the film, giving it a limited theatrical release on September 20 before its global debut on Apple TV+ on September 27. This decision comes as Apple responds to market dynamics and recent box office performances.
'Wolfs' sequel to feature original cast; director
Apple Original Films has confirmed that the sequel to Wolfs will be written, directed, and produced by Jon Watts. The film will also see the return of its lead actors, Clooney and Pitt. In Wolfs, Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to conceal a high-profile crime. The plot intensifies when a second fixer, portrayed by Pitt, enters the scene, leading to unexpected developments.
Other Apple films to follow wide theatrical release strategy
Despite the change in release strategy for Wolfs, other Apple films like the Pitt-starrer Formula One drama F1 and the heist caper film The Instigators will still follow the wide theatrical release strategy. Apple's next major feature, the Steve McQueen-directed WWII drama Blitz, is also scheduled for a limited theatrical release on November 1.
'Wolfs' blends comedy, action, and drama
"Wolfs is the kind of big event movie that makes Apple TV+ such an exceptional home for the best in entertainment," said Matt Dentler, Apple Original Films's head of features. "With George and Brad's remarkable and engaging chemistry under Jon Watts's extraordinary direction, Wolfs blends all the great elements of comedy, action, and drama into a hugely entertaining movie that will leave audiences ready for what's next."
