'General Hospital' star Johnny Wactor (37) dies in botched robbery
Johnny Wactor, renowned for his role as Brando Corbin in the long-standing American soap opera General Hospital, was fatally shot in Los Angeles on Saturday. He was 37. According to law enforcement, three suspects were attempting to steal the catalytic converter from Wactor's vehicle. When Wactor confronted them, they shot him and fled the scene. He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The suspects remain at large.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the incident at Pico Boulevard and Hope Street around 3:25am on Saturday (local time). The suspects fled the crime scene in a vehicle and have not yet been apprehended. The investigation into this tragic incident is currently ongoing. Wactor's agent, David Shaul, confirmed his death to TMZ and remembered him as "a spectacular human being." May he rest in peace.

The show paid homage to him via an official Instagram post, stating, "The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor's untimely passing. He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day." Actor Sofia Mattsson also expressed her sorrow, describing Johnny as "one of the most incredible humans I've ever met."

Wactor's acting career began in 2007 with a role in Army Wives. Afterward, he made several notable appearances in shows like Siberia (2013), Agent X (2015), Hollywood Girl (2010), Training Day (2017), Criminal Minds (2017), Struggling Servers (2017), Age Appropriate (2017), and NCIS (2019). Wactor's film credits include playing Connor in 2016's USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, alongside Nicolas Cage and Tom Sizemore.
