Director

'Game of Thrones' director David Nutter helmed the advertisement

The crossover advertisement has been helmed by David Nutter. Nutter is known for having directed one of Game of Thrones' most infamous episodes. 'The Rains of Castamere' known among fans as Red Wedding was made under the directorial guidance of Nutter. The advertisement stars Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays Ser Gregor Clegane or the Mountain on the show and ends with the message '#forthethrone'.

Details

The Mountain takes on the Bud Light Knight in crossover

The ad starts with the setting of a tourney where the king and queen are in attendance, chilling with a Bud Light, of course. The Bud Light Knight is also introduced to us and he has the crowd's support as he prepares for a round of jousting. Soon, however, the rains of Castemere starts playing and the Mountain is introduced as the knight's opponent.

The ad

Crushing skulls, dragon fire, all the Game of Thrones extravaganza

The ad does not compromise on the extravaganza of the show, as the Mountain easily dispatches of the Bud Light Knight. He then proceeds to crush his skull as he did with Oberyn Martell, or the Viper, on the show. As the crowd looks on in horror, Daenerys' favorite dragon, Drogon, shows up and breathes fire all over the tournament, destroying everything.

Personal

Advertisement does not tie in with the show

Fans might be wondering why Drogon came to the assistance of the Mountain. The Mountain has never been on friendly terms with any of Daenerys' dragons and despite appearing in the ad together, it does not signal any possible alliance between Daenerys and the Mountain.
