'Vanvaas': Anil Sharma-Nana's next is 'emotions ka gadar', says director
Filmmaker Anil Sharma has opened up about his upcoming film Vanvaas, starring Nana Patekar and his son Utkarsh Sharma. The director described the movie as an emotional rollercoaster, comparing its impact to his previous blockbuster, Gadar. He highlighted his preference for emotional narratives over action-packed blockbusters, reflecting his unique approach to filmmaking.
'Vanvaas' is a blast of emotions, says Sharma
In an interview with IANS, Sharma shared his vision for Vanvaas. He said, "Jo Vanvaas hai woh emotions ka Gadar hai. It is a blast of emotions. It is a story in which we have tried to show that a father is above all." "It is a film that will get into everyone, and every father will watch the film and then tell their sons to go watch it."
Sharma's filmmaking journey marked by emotional narratives
Sharma reflected on his filmmaking career, which began with movies like Shradhanjali and continued with emotional dramas like Bandhan Kuchchey Dhaagon Ka and Apne. He described these films as an "emotional journey" of his life. Drawing a parallel with Vanvaas, he said, "So, similarly, it (Vanvaas) is also an emotional journey, where I say, 'apne hi dete hai apno ko vanvaas.'"
Sharma recalls conversation with Patekar post 'Gadar'
Sharma recalled a conversation with actor Patekar after the success of Gadar 2. Patekar had expected Sharma to work on an action film next, given the popularity of Gadar. However, Sharma surprised him by revealing his plans for an emotional drama. He said, "I am making a film that is close to my heart. I don't go according to a trend. I will make a film on what I feel like."
