Drama series on French First Lady Brigitte Macron is coming
Gaumont, the esteemed French production company, has announced its plans to produce a six-part drama series about the life of Brigitte Macron, France's First Lady. The series is titled Brigitte, une femme libre (Brigitte, a free woman). Each episode will run for 45 minutes and will explore Macron's captivating romantic journey, as per Gaumont's recent press release.
Meet the creative team; storyline details under wraps
The creative minds behind the series are Bénédicte Charles and Olivier Pouponneau, known for their past collaborations on projects such as the Abu Dhabi-based spy thriller Mirage and the riveting mini-series Spiral of Lies. However, Gaumont has chosen to remain silent about further details about the storyline, cast, or other production partners involved in this highly anticipated series.
The Macrons' unique love story will captivate global audiences
The unique love story of Macron and her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron, has fascinated audiences worldwide. Their romance began when Emmanuel was a 15-year-old student and she was his 39-year-old teacher, also a married mother of three. Their shared passion for drama and participation in a school production of Eduardo de Filippo's The Art of Comedy brought them closer together.
From Paris separation to presidential marriage: The Macrons
Upon the revelation of their relationship, Emmanuel's parents sent him to Paris for further studies. Despite the separation, Emmanuel promised he would marry Macron one day. They eventually wed in 2007, when Emmanuel was 29 and Macron 54, roughly 18 months after her divorce from her first husband. After their marriage, she continued teaching before supporting her husband's political career and ultimately becoming France's First Lady.
First Lady's close source denied association though
While Charles spoke to French media about covering Macron's tale in "a romantic, almost melodramatic way because of the romantic dimension of her destiny," the French First Lady is most likely not involved with the project. An anonymous source close to Macron told AFP, "We are not associated with this project which we learned about...in the press."
