MeToo accused Siddique still missing; government to block bail re-appeal
Malayalam actor Siddique has been missing since the Kerala High Court denied his anticipatory bail plea in a rape case. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is now actively searching for him, with plans to arrest him. However, their efforts have been hampered as the actor's mobile phones are switched off, and attempts to trace him have so far proved unsuccessful.
Siddique's legal team plans to appeal in Supreme Court
Following the denial of anticipatory bail, Siddique's son was seen at his lawyer's office, indicating that they plan to challenge the High Court's decision in the Supreme Court. In response, both the complainant and the Kerala government are preparing to file a caveat petition in the apex court to counter Siddique's appeal. This move could potentially complicate matters for Siddique.
Rape allegations led to Siddique's resignation from AMMA
The rape case against Siddique was initiated after an actor accused him of sexually assaulting her at a state-owned hotel in Thiruvananthapuram in 2016. Following these allegations, Siddique resigned from his position as General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The entire committee, led by President Mohanlal, also stepped down.
Siddique denied allegations, accused actor of harassment
Siddique has denied the rape allegations, claiming that the actor has been harassing him since 2019. He stated that she repeatedly accused him on social media of attempting to molest her at a theater in 2016. Following the publication of the Justice Hema Committee report, she leveled a more serious allegation of rape at a different location in the same year.

The Justice Hema Committee report has caused significant upheaval in the Malayalam film industry. Following its release, several former actors publicly shared their negative experiences, leading to the registration of 11 FIRs against various film personalities. Notably, Siddique is the first actor who applied for anticipatory bail but failed to secure it.
