    What's the story

On Wednesday, it was announced that the Pakistani blockbuster The Legend Of Maula Jatt, starring Fawad Khan, is set to release in India on October 2.

However, per a new report by Bollywood Hungama, the film will only be screened in Punjab.

This marks the first Pakistani film to be released in India in over a decade.

The movie has already grossed over ₹200 crore and has not been made available on any streaming platform yet.

    Details

'Tremendous curiosity surrounding the film among Indian fans'

Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying, "It is the first Pakistani film to release in India in more than 10 years. Fawad Khan has a huge fan base in the country."

"Due to these factors, there's tremendous curiosity surrounding the film among Indian fans."

The film also stars Mahira Khan.

    Director's statement

'Can't wait for our Punjabi audience in India to experience'

Director Bilal Lashari confirmed the limited release of The Legend Of Maula Jatt in India.

Sharing the film's India release poster on Instagram, he wrote, "Releasing in India, Punjab on Wednesday October 2! Two years in, and still house full on weekends in Pakistan! Now, I can't wait for our Punjabi audience in India to experience the magic of this labor of love!"

    Information

Film's release marks significant cultural exchange between India, Pakistan

This upcoming release marks a significant moment in cultural exchange between India and Pakistan. A ban on film releases between the two countries had been in place for years following heightened tensions and terror incidents.
