After nearly four years of dating, actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and his girlfriend, host-model Shibani Dandekar, are all set to tie the knot. Reports suggest the duo will get married in an intimate ceremony on Saturday (February 19), followed by a court marriage on Monday (February 21). And, the pre-wedding festivities have already begun. As per reports, a sangeet ceremony will be held today with close friends of Dandekar preparing dance performances for the bride. Reportedly, even the groom has a special offering set for the event. The bridesmaids—including Dandekar's sisters Anusha and Apeksha and her friend, actor Rhea Chakraborty—had thrown the bride a special mehendi/haldi party Thursday night. A clip of them dancing had also gone viral.
No religious wedding ritual, couple will be exchanging vows
Following sangeet, the pair will get married in a cozy ceremony at Akhtar's father, veteran lyricist-screenwriter Javed Akhtar, and his wife actor Shabana Azmi's Khandala farmhouse. At the beginning of this month, Sr. Akhtar had confirmed the upcoming nuptials. As per India Today, the couple has decided to not get married as per any religious wedding ritual. Instead, they will simply be exchanging vows.
Cliche for them to do 'nikah' and Hindu wedding
"Those who know [the pair] can vouch for the fact that they both have put their love for each other above their last names. It would have been a cliche for them to do a nikah and a Hindu wedding," a source told India Today.

Coming to the guest list, nothing is out in the open as expected from celebrity weddings. But some high-profile names are surely doing the rounds. The couple's friends and co-stars, such as actors Hrithik Roshan and Alia Bhatt, are likely to attend their wedding. Toofaan director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Akhtar's business partner, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, are also reportedly on the guest list.
