On Twitter, Farhan Akhtar fights trolls with sensible replies
What's the story
Since whataboutery has taken over social media, having a conversation with anyone having different views, has become impossible.
So when Farhan Akhtar asserted soaring fuel price could be brought down, he was asked 'but what about high-rise movie ticket prices'?
However, it seems Akhtar has cracked the difficult code of dealing with such deranged arguments (of comparing apples and oranges) on Twitter.

Here is Farhan's tweet that snowballed a controversy
₹84 per litre mubarak to you and your loved ones.

Actual cost I believe is ₹31, based on info i could find online (do correct me if I’m wrong, happy to learn) .. the rest are central state taxes, cess commissions. Just so you know that the price can be brought down.
Smart answers
Akhtar was told Bollywood stashes black money, he retorted intelligently
Just as Akhtar voiced his opinion, on a matter that should actually concern all, he was at the receiving end of stupid arguments.
One said the actor will be forced to do farming if no one buys his movie tickets.
Another accused the film industry, of stashing black money and then crying over rising prices. To all these, Akhtar had intelligent answers.

Yes it’s all Bollywood’s money lying in those Swiss banks that we await the return of with bated breath. 🙄 You are so naive..

Things changed
As fuel prices sky-rocketed, many chose silence
The government's inability to curtail rising fuel prices has done little to earn criticism from its defenders.
Rising petrol and diesel prices automatically lead to a rise in transportation charges, and increased inflation. But, the supporters of the government who staunchly spoke against fuel prices in UPA rule (looking at you Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan), chose silence this time.
But, Farhan is talking, thankfully.

Farhan explains difference between luxury and necessity (quite literally!)
Please don’t buy the ticket or the popcorn. It’s not an essential commodity and it will not raise the price of vegetables and food grain in days to come. High fuel prices will.

Only if the trolls did something productive!
