Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has set social media abuzz with swirling rumors that he could be the enigmatic character in the much-anticipated Malayalam movie L2: Empuraan.
The rumors gained traction after the teaser release and the news that Khan's sister, Nikhat Khan Hegde, plays an important role in the movie.
Actor and filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran praised Khan Hegde's performance without knowing her connection to Khan.
The movie is scheduled to be released on Thursday.

'Is my sister good in the film?'
According to ETimes, Sukumaran revealed that he didn't know Khan Hegde was Khan's sister when he finalized her for the film.
"I said I liked her when I saw her audition. I said I wanted her. My casting director said, 'Oh yeah, she's wonderful. By the way, she's also Aamir sir's sister.' I said, 'Really?'"
He said the PK actor also messaged him asking, "Is my sister good in the film?"

Fans have been speculating about Khan's potential involvement in L2: Empuraan, especially in connection with an enigmatic character teased in the film's posters and trailer.
Initially, there were theories that actor Fahadh Faasil might be playing the antagonist, but the latest rumors suggest it could be Khan.
This speculation has been further fueled by the release of old similar posters of Khan from the film Dhoom 3.
