Amazon's 'Fallout' breaks streaming records
Amazon's latest series, Fallout, has attracted an impressive 65M viewers since its premiere just over two weeks ago. This achievement has ranked it as the second most-viewed show on Amazon Prime Video within such a short release period, according to the streaming giant's data. The series has even outperformed all other content on the platform since the premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
'Fallout' finds favor among younger audiences
The series has quickly become the most popular title for viewers aged 18-34 during its 16-day run. Amazon's data reveals that Fallout holds the number one spot globally on Prime Video, with a significant majority of its viewership - precisely 60% - coming from outside the US. The show has particularly resonated with audiences in the UK, France, and Brazil.
'Fallout' has already been greenlit for second season
Due to its overwhelming success, Amazon approved Fallout for a second season just a week after its debut. The series is produced by Kilter Films under the guidance of executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. It draws inspiration from Bethesda Game Studios's video game series, depicting a post-apocalyptic world where luxury fallout shelter inhabitants are forced to return to the inhabitable wasteland left by their ancestors.
'Fallout' showcases stellar ensemble cast
The series features an ensemble cast including Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton, Rodrigo Luzzi, Annabel O'Hagan, and Xelia Mendes-Jones. Athena Wickham of Kilter Films and James Altman of Bethesda Softworks serve as executive producers for Bethesda Game Studios. The production is a joint venture between Amazon MGM Studios, Kilter Films, Bethesda Game Studios, and Bethesda Softworks.
