Man poses to be Akshay Kumar's employee to cheat woman
In a recent development, Mumbai's Juhu Police Station has arrested an individual named Prince Kumar Sinha. Sinha was caught attempting to deceive actor Akshay Kumar's production house, Cape of Good Films. He had allegedly been impersonating an employee of the production house in a scheme to defraud a social media influencer named Pooja Anandani.
Sinha's deceptive scheme unveiled
Sinha (29) initiated contact with Anandani on April 3 under the alias of Rohan Mehra, claiming to be an employee of Cape of Good Films, Kumar's banner. He presented her with a job opportunity, stating he was part of a film project based on the Nirbhaya case. Their first meeting took place in Mumbai's Juhu at a local coffee shop where Sinha asked Anandani to pose for pictures taken by a supposed associate of superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
Swift police action thwarted potential scam
Suspecting foul play, Anandani alerted the police about her concerns. So, when the influencer went to meet the fraudster for the second time at the JW Marriott hotel in Juhu, the police were ready to apprehend Sinha. Further investigations revealed that there was no employee named Rohan Mehra at Cape of Good Films.
Investigation continues, authorities urge caution
Upon realizing the deception, Anandani was prompt enough to inform the production house and file a complaint with Juhu Police Station. The investigation is still ongoing. Authorities urged people to verify any offers before accepting them to avoid falling victim to such scams.
