#MonicaGellerSaysNo: F.R.I.E.N.D.S reunion is impossible, believes Courteney Cox
F.R.I.E.N.D.S remains one of the favorite sitcoms of all time. The show aired in 1994 and ran for 10 seasons till 2004. The story that explored the bond between six friends in their late-20s, became a resounding success. There have been calls for a reunion from fans ever since the show ended. However, show alum, Courteney Cox dashed these hopes. Here's what she said.
No one told us life was gonna be this way
F.R.I.E.N.D.S starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc who played Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Chandler Bing, Ross Geller, and Joey Tribbiani, respectively. It centered around these six friends living in NYC, figuring out life and love.
No way to reunite the friends
Cox, who played the obsessive-compulsive Monica, said that she would love to reunite with the cast, but did not think there was any way to 'redo' the initial magic of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The 54-year-old actress commented that though people kept asking for a reunion, she could not visualize a reboot of NBC's popular sitcom. Notably, her co-star Aniston had expressed interest in reviving the show.
When the music's over, please turn out the lights
Cox said, "Will we ever do a remake?' That was a story about... friends in their 30s who are finding themselves... if there's a way to redo it... I would do anything to be in a room with all of those people...don't see it happening".
We get by with a little help from our friends
Though Cox seems pretty firm in her opinion that F.R.I.E.N.D.S will not be reuniting, in the near future, it is this author's sincere hope that we get to see Monica's familiar purple-walled apartment and orange couch in Central Perk. Seeing how the show's reruns still enjoy immense popularity, a sitcom about the now fifty-year-old group reuniting and swapping stories would be a major crowd-puller.
