Rapper Honey Singh reveals he hates his songs—especially 'Sunny Sunny'
Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, recently criticized some of his chartbuster hit tracks, including Sunny Sunny, Lungi Dance, and Party All Night. During a recent interview with The Lallantop, the 41-year-old artist admitted that he wrote these songs in a rush without giving much thought to their content. He also shared some behind-the-scenes experiences from his music video shoots.
Singh completed 'Sunny Sunny' in just two hours
When asked if he wrote Sunny Sunny in a hurry, Singh confirmed that he finished the track, including its music and recording, in just two hours. He described it as the "stupidest song" he has ever written. "What kind of a song is 'Blue Hai Paani Paani, Din Hai Sunny Sunny?' It's nonsense. To be honest, look at all the songs; is there any substance?"
'Now when I am asked to perform these songs...'
Singh also criticized his other popular songs, Lungi Dance and Party All Night, stating that he wasn't aware of what he was doing when he wrote them. He added, "Now when I am asked to perform these songs, I laugh at myself because people are still crazy about these kinds of songs." Despite his criticism, the singer acknowledged that he continues to earn revenue from these tracks.
Singh shares his experience on 'Lungi Dance' sets
In a separate interview with Cine Connect, Singh revealed that he was made to wait for up to 12 hours on the sets of Lungi Dance, a song from Chennai Express—starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. He said, "They called me and made me sit for up to 12 hours with makeup. It was their plan to make me wait." "They were like, 'This guy is so excited to be part of this shoot, let us make him wait.'"
