Backstory
Lately, Hashmi has been absent from silver screen
Of late, Hashmi has been taking it slow for the past few years and had only a couple of releases. His last film was last year's 'Baadshaho'.
Despite being absent from the limelight for quite some time, he enjoys a pretty wide fan base.
The actor's role in this Netflix series is bound to make his fans excited.
The partnership
Netflix and King Khan: A match made in heaven
Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment made a deal with Netflix, thereby becoming the first Indian production house to tie-up with the streaming giant.
The long-term deal would allow Netflix access to dozens of Red Chillies films. 'Dear Zindagi' was the first movie which was streamed on the platform.
This web series will be a step in a new direction for both parties.
Netflix originals
Netflix wowed us already, can they do it again?
Notably, Netflix took the Indian market by storm with 'Sacred Games' opening to largely positive reviews.
Their other forays in Indian content have also been successful, including 'Love Per Square Foot' and 'Lust Stories'.
With Radhika Apte's 'Ghoul' coming up along with other Indian originals like 'Crocodile', 'Again', and 'Selection Day', this new announcement shows just how steadily Netflix is targeting the market.
