Emraan Hashmi reuniting with the Bhatts after 8 years
What's the story
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is reportedly in talks to reunite with producers Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt, under whose guidance he was launched.
The collaboration is expected to be a "twisted musical love story," directed by cousin Vishesh Bhatt, reported Mid-Day.
This project will mark Vishesh's second directorial venture after Murder 3 (2013) and signifies a homecoming for Hashmi, who hasn't worked with his uncle Mukesh in over eight years.
Hashmi's last Vishesh Films project was Raaz: Reboot in 2016.
Project talks
Hashmi and Bhatts's discussions for new project underway
A source told Mid-Day that Hashmi has been "visiting Vishesh's office for over a year" as they have been in talks for a movie.
"Last week, he was again spotted at their Khar office. While they have shortlisted a few stories, the one that has their attention is a modern love story with a dark twist, written by Vishesh. Things will be finalized by March."
Collaboration hint
Mukesh hinted at possible collaboration with Hashmi
When Mid-Day contacted Mukesh, who has been heading the banner with his son after his filmmaker-brother Mahesh stepped aside in 2021, he hinted at a possible collaboration.
He said, "We're looking at options, but it's too early to talk about it. Vishesh is at the helm of it. He is now taking the banner forward, but yes, I will be there [to oversee] the music."
