Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman to join Marvel Studios' 'Secret Invasion'
Acclaimed British actresses Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman may soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yes, you heard that right! Both are reportedly in advanced talks to join Marvel Studios' crossover series called Secret Invasion, based on an iconic comic book series. The series will premiere on the Disney Plus streaming service in 2022 and will be a part of Phase four of MCU.
Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn reprising their MCU roles
The Secret Invasion project was announced last year as one of many planned titles in the works, for Disney Plus. Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising his role of Nick Fury from the MCU. Ben Mendelsohn will also be back to play Skrull Talos from the Captain Marvel movie. British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir will portray the main antagonist in the upcoming series.
The series will feature shape-shifting aliens, as per comics
Most details about the series have still not been officially announced, but according to the comic books, Secret Invasion will feature a group of shape-shifting aliens. President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has confirmed that season one will have six episodes. Shooting was originally scheduled to start this month in LA, but it may now begin in September in Europe and the UK.

Colman is one of the most accomplished actresses with an Academy Award, three British Academy Television Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and many more trophies and nominations under her belt. She played the role of Queen Elizabeth II recently in the hit Netflix period drama The Crown. Her comedic depth can be seen in series like Flowers and Fleabag.
Clarke became a household name after 'Game of Thrones'
Meanwhile, Clarke got international recognition after playing the role of Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, which recently celebrated 10 years of its premiere. In 2019, she was featured on Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The actress has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards and received the BAFTA Britannia Award in 2018.
