'The Elephant Whisperers' scribe to launch Amazon teen drama series
Acclaimed screenwriter Garima Pura Patiyaalvi, known for co-writing the Oscar-winning film The Elephant Whisperers, is set to launch a new teen drama series on Amazon titled Amber Girls School. The series, which takes place in an all-girls school that promotes traditional Indian culture, follows the journey of 15-year-old Ojaswini who aspires to become her school's vice head girl. The show will be available for streaming on Amazon's ad-supported platform miniTV, currently accessible only in India.

The series will be directed by Rajlaxmi Ratan Seth, known for The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family, and produced by Reliance Entertainment Studios. The cast includes Celesti Bairagey as the protagonist Ojaswini, with Kajol Chugh, Adrija Sinha, Ishika Gagneja, Harsh Khurana, and Shruti Panwar in supporting roles. Amogh Dusad, head of content at Amazon miniTV, praised the show for its authentic portrayal of teenage complexities.
'Amber Girls School' will be available from May 1
Producer Sweta Agnihotri from Reliance Entertainment expressed confidence in the cast and crew's ability to deliver a story that reflects universal adolescent struggles. Lead actor Bairagey described the series as a "powerful exploration of the teenage experience," believing that Ojaswini's journey will resonate with viewers. She also expressed her excitement about collaborating with such a talented team. The series Amber Girls School will be available for streaming from May 1.
