Box office collection: 'Do Aur Do Pyaar' has no takers
The romantic comedy Do Aur Do Pyaar, starring Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, made ₹31 lakh on its sixth day of release. Despite positive reviews for its insightful portrayal of contemporary relationships, the movie has struggled to attract a large audience, primarily due to a lack of promotions. The movie's earnings dipped on the first Monday after its release and have not recovered since then. Its total stands at ₹3.2 crore.
'Do Aur Do Pyaar' has locked horns with multiple films
The film's daily collections have been under ₹30 lakh during weekdays, with a slight increase on the sixth day compared to previous weekdays. Currently, Do Aur Do Pyaar is competing for audiences with Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 at the box office. Eid releases—Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan—are also contenders. Notably, none of these films have been doing well commercially, though BMCM has performed better than the rest, relatively.
Meanwhile, Balan shared a heartfelt message for fans
Despite the modest earnings, Balan expressed her gratitude for fans' support in a video message. She said, "I am really excited by all the love we have been receiving for Do Aur Do Pyaar. Thank you so much. My heart is full of love, joy gratitude and smiles. Please spread the word...please come and watch the film." Balan is unfortunately having a rough patch due to the underperformance of DADP and her last, Neeyat.
About the film; Ramamurthy's reaction to the movie's reception
Do Aur Do Pyaar marked Shirsha Guha Thakurta's debut as a director. Additionally, Ramamurthy made his comeback to Hindi cinema with this film after his previous appearance in the 2022 series Doom Patrol. Ramamurthy, while speaking to Pinkvilla recently, said, "The way people responded to it has made all of us so happy. I've been texting with Vidya, Pratik, and Ileana, and we're just all kind of blown away by the reception of it."
