'Do Aur Do Pyaar' box office collection remains disappointing
The box office collection of Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi's Do Aur Do Pyaar has been disappointing. It experienced a significant drop in earnings, with Monday's total reaching a mere ₹26 lakh. The rom-com was released alongside Dibakar Banerjee's Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 which is also struggling. This indicates a challenging path ahead for both these releases.
'Do Aur Do Pyaar' saw a massive drop in earnings
Do Aur Do Pyaar began with a promising weekend collection of ₹2.5 crore, peaking at ₹95 lakh on Sunday. However, by Monday, the film's earnings had plummeted to just ₹26 lakh (early estimates) according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The tracker also noted that the film's occupancy rate remained below 10% throughout the day, slightly increasing to just over 11% for night shows.
'Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2' also witnessed a significant decrease
Similarly, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 witnessed a significant decrease in its earnings. After reaching its highest collection of ₹40 lakh on Sunday, the film's earnings fell to just ₹8 lakh by Monday. The film's total domestic haul now stands at ₹73 lakh, and it's unlikely to cross the ₹10 lakh mark on its fifth day (Tuesday).
Eid releases have added to the box-office challenges
Adding to the box office challenges are the holdover Eid releases—Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan. These films, although underperforming at the box office, have contributed to an overall difficult period for the Hindi film industry. This increased competition has further complicated the path for Do Aur Do Pyaar and LSD 2.
