'Mirzapur': Divyenndu wasn't first choice for Munna's role!
Amazon Prime Video's Mirzapur has been a game-changer for the Indian OTT space, with its gripping narrative and standout performances. One character that left an indelible mark was Munna Bhaiya, played by Divyenndu. However, it has recently been revealed that Divyenndu was not the original choice for this iconic role. The actor initially approached for the part was Amit Sial, who eventually portrayed Inspector Ram Sharan Maurya in the series.
'Wouldn't have been convincing as Pankaj Tripathi's son'
In a recent interaction with Filmygyan, Sial revealed, "Munna's character in Mirzapur was offered to me, but obviously, I wouldn't have been convincing as Pankaj Tripathi's son. But I am very happy with the role I played. I think that's a classic character." Sial also expressed his admiration for Divyenndu's portrayal, saying, "He is a very sweet friend and portrayed the character exceptionally well." Mirzapur Season 3 premiered in July and a fourth installment is reportedly in development.
