Disney+ streaming service planning on getting a villains' series
Content is king if you want to acquire and retain customers, and streaming platforms know this better than anyone else. To this extent Disney+, the upcoming service by Disney, already has a bunch of exciting shows lined up to gain a strong base of loyal users. They are now augmenting this line-up with a series on some of Disney's most popular villains. Here's more.
'Book of Enchantment' to have Disney's popular villains
Book of Enchantment is based on the popular villain-centric series of novels by Serena Valentino. Michael Seitzman is set to direct the series which will delve into Disney's own archive of popular villains, many of whom we have seen in films and shows that shaped our childhood. Notably, considering Disney's vast repository of memorable villains, this series could have multiple seasons on the platform.
Who are the villains we can expect to see?
Since the series will be based on Valentino's novels, we can expect to see villains like the titular monster from Beauty and the Beast, Maleficent, and Ursula from Little Mermaid among other antagonists. All of them together should make for a fascinating collaborative series.
Other shows to look forward to on Disney+
With the recent show being announced, Disney+ is already looking to open with a very strong line-up. This includes plenty of Marvel content like Loki, a show on Vision and Scarlet Witch, and another focusing on the camaraderie between Falcon and Winter Soldier. Another exciting show Disney has lined up is a Star Wars prequel based on the bounty hunter Boba Fett.
Disney+ has a 2019 scheduled launch date
While the fine-tuning still remains to be completed, Disney++ is looking at a 2019 launch date tentatively. Once it arrives, streaming giants like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu will have tough competition on their hand as far as content is concerned.
