Disha's contract hasn't ended, says producer
Of late, there have been several reports suggesting that Disha would either be replaced or her character's arc would end. However, producer Asit Kumar Modi dismissed the reports and said, "Contract has not been closed. The character of Daya bhabhi is still there and we haven't taken any actor to replace her. As and when she wants to come, we'll see at that time".
Disha had taken maternity break in September 2017
For the uninitiated, Disha took a maternity break from TMKOC in September 2017 and was expected to return after her daughter's birth. While the audience was eagerly waiting for her comeback, she, reportedly, extended her maternity break given her new responsibilities. Besides, her daughter needed extra care and the shooting conditions would have been tough for the new mommy.
Further, Disha's condition for return surprised everyone
The reports further suggested that Disha was willing to return but had certain conditions (including a fee hike) which came as a surprise for TMKOC makers. "Daya had laid some conditions with her timings and availability along with monetary concerns to makers, who in return said that they would love to have her back, but cannot comply with her conditions," a source told DNA.
Finally, will Disha return to 'TMKOC' anytime soon?
Well, Asit's recent statement came as a relief for Disha's fans as it ignited the hope of the actress' comeback on TMKOC. Although makers aren't in a mood to give in to Disha's demands, they are still hoping to bring her back. We wonder if our favorite Dayaben will be back anytime soon on Taarak Mehta Ka Oooltah Chashmah to entertain all of us.
