Will Triptii romance Dhanush in 'Tere Ishq Mein'? Find out
Director Aanand L. Rai has responded to recent reports suggesting that actor Triptii Dimri will be starring opposite Dhanush in his upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Rai remained tight-lipped about the cast but assured that an official announcement will be made soon. He also addressed comparisons between Tere Ishk Mein and his 2013 romance drama film Raanjhanaa.
'Let the speculation keep rolling,' says Rai
Rai's comments were in response to a recent report by PeepingMoon, which claimed that Dimri had been cast in Tere Ishk Mein. When asked about this, the director said, "Let the speculation keep rolling. I will give my cast very soon." The film, which was announced last year, is set to begin shooting in October after being delayed due to Dhanush's prior commitments.
'Tere Ishk Mein' not an extension of 'Raanjhanaa'
Rai also addressed comparisons between Tere Ishk Mein and Raanjhanaa, both of which star Dhanush. He clarified that the only similarity is the team behind the films, including himself, Dhanush, AR Rahman, Irshad Kamil, and Himanshu Sharma. "Tere Ishk Mein is a different story, but yes, you may get the fragrance of Raanjhanaa because of the feel, energy and mood," he said.
'It's an expansion, not an extension'
Rai further explained, "It's an expansion, not an extension. It expands that emotion in a different film." Tere Ishk Mein was announced on the 10th anniversary of Raanjhanaa. In the announcement post, Rai wrote, "Kundan and this boy are the same, but his mood is to blow up the world! Only for you...Tere Ishk Mein." Interestingly, Dhanush and Rai have previously collaborated on another romantic drama, Atrangi Re.
