#HindiMedium2: Producer Dinesh Vijan clears air about Irrfan Khan's exit
It's been a few days when Irrfan Khan, who was undergoing treatment for the Neuroendocrine tumor in London, returned to Mumbai. Ever since then there have been speculations about his onscreen comeback. While reports floated that Irrfan would start working on Hindi Medium 2 soon, those were quashed after a few days. Now, producer Dinesh Vijan has rubbished those reports and called them speculations.
'Hindi Medium 2' script is ready, confirms producer
Clearing the air about Irrfan's exit, Dinesh stated that no official decision has been made about the cast of the movie. He also asserted that the script of this much-talked-about movie is ready, however, they are waiting for Irrfan's recovery. "Irrfan has just come back to town. It's the script that is ready. Hopefully, in another month, we'll have clarity," Dinesh said.
Irrfan not to return to acting until 2020, said reports
Meanwhile, there have been reports that Irrfan is getting treated at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. They further suggested that the healing process is quite exhausting, which makes it impossible for him to return to work for at least a year. "Even after full recovery, he won't be allowed to get back to work for at least a year," his friend reportedly stated.
Irrfan has been missing from limelight for a year
Notably, Irrfan has been missing from the limelight for a year now after he was diagnosed with the Neuroendocrine tumor, a rare form of cancer, in March 2018. He shared the news with his fans with a heartfelt note and admitted that dealing with it was quite heart-breaking for him. However, he also expressed his gratitude towards his fans for their unconditional love.

Separately, director Saket Chaudhary distances himself from the project
Apart from Irrfan's withdrawal from the project, reports suggested even director Saket Chaudhary has distanced himself from the second installment of the Hindi Medium franchise. Reportedly, Saket felt that "he's done telling the story he wanted to". While an official confirmation of the same is awaited, we wonder if Vijan will have to look out for an entirely new team for the movie.
