Diljit won't unveil his wax statue today. Reason is heart-warming
Diljit Dosanjh, who was all set to unveil his wax figure at the prestigious Madame Tussauds in Delhi today, has postponed the launch indefinitely. The Punjabi singer-cum-actor took the decision in wake of the ongoing cross border tension between India and Pakistan. According to media reports, Diljit not only canceled today's launch event but also postponed it until further notice. Here's what he said.

Diljit took to Twitter to confirm the news by writing, "Our soldiers are fighting hard to protect the Nation. We stand by our Soldiers. Amidst the tensions rising across the Nation, have decided to re-schedule the launch of #MadameTussauds WAX Statue". Diljit also prayed for the safe release of the Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan who is in custody of the Pakistani Army currently.

Earlier, Diljit had donated Rs. 3L to Pulwama martyrs' wives
Earlier, Diljit donated Rs. 3 lakh to the wives of the 40 CRPF personnel, who were martyred in the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019. "We can't take the sorrow away but can try to help a little by donating. It's our time to do something to help the families of our shaheed jawans in this time. We stand with the soldiers," he added.
Diljit becomes first turbaned Sikh to have a wax statue
Diljit, who made his debut in Bollywood with 2016 release Udta Punjab, became the nation's crush in no time. Given his fame and popularity, his wax statue also grabbed headlines. The statue development is significant for another reason. Notably, Diljit will be the first turbaned Sikh to have a wax figure at Tussauds.
Work front: Diljit gearing up for 'Good News' with Kareena
On the professional front, Diljit has a busy year with two releases in 2019. He is currently working on Raj Mehta's debut directorial Good News with Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani. The movie is based on the issue of surrogacy. Besides, Diljit will also be seen in Rohit Jugraj's Arjun Patiala with Kriti Sanon, Varun Sharma and Ronit Roy.
