Diljit Dosanjh fan sends legal notice over 'Dil-Luminati' show tickets
A disappointed fan of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has served a legal notice to him after failing to secure tickets for his upcoming eagerly awaited Dil-Luminati shows in India. The fan, named Riddhima Kapoor, reportedly accused the organizers of unfair trade practices and manipulation in ticket sales. She also alleged that her consumer rights were violated. Here are more details on this.
Fan sent legal notice to Dosanjh, Zomato, HDFC, Saregama
Kapoor who is a law student from Delhi, sent the legal notice to Dosanjh, Zomato, HDFC Bank, and Saregama Pvt Ltd. Per reports, the notice read, "Manipulation for ticket prices, unfair trade practices, and scalping of tickets for Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-luminati India Tour." She claimed that the tickets were made available at 12:59pm on September 12, a minute before the announced time.
'Unavailability of tickets indicates artificially inflating demand...'
Kapoor mentioned that she had obtained an HDFC credit card specifically for early-bird passes. However, despite the deduction of money from her account, she didn't receive the passes. The amount was later refunded. She called this a "suspicious transaction" hinting at manipulation and scalping practices. The notice further read, "The sudden unavailability of tickets indicates that your organization may be artificially inflating demand and manipulating prices, which constitutes an unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019."
Dosanjh's 'Dil-Luminati' tour sets record ticket sales
Further, in her notice, Kapoor added, "The practice of scalping and hoarding of tickets with an intent to resell them at inflated prices is a clear violation of consumer rights and an act of bad faith." The tour will start in New Delhi on October 26 and conclude in Guwahati on December 29.
