'Dhoom 4' in development; Ayan Mukerji likely to direct: Report
The much-anticipated fourth installment of the Dhoom franchise is reportedly in development at Yash Raj Films (YRF). Now, in an exciting update, sources close to the production house have revealed to Bollywood Hungama that Aditya Chopra is working on Dhoom 4 with writers Sridhar Raghavan and Vijay Krishna Acharya. The filmmaker is also said to be considering Ayan Mukerji as the director for this project.
Mukerji to decide after wrapping up 'War 2'
According to an insider, Chopra has discussed his intent to make Dhoom 4 with Mukerji, who is currently working on Hrithik Roshan-ledWar 2. The director is excited about the idea but has requested some time from Chopra to focus on his current project. The source further revealed: "While he is developing a series of spy films, he knows the value of the Dhoom franchise and wants to bring it at the right time with the right cast and right director."
Casting for 'Dhoom 4' is yet to be decided
The casting for Dhoom 4 is yet to be decided, and more information is expected by mid-2025. To recall, the original film that kickstarted the franchise was released in 2004. It starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Uday Chopra. While Bachchan and Chopra reprised their roles in Dhoom 2 (2006) and Dhoom 3 (2013), Roshan and Aamir Khan were part of these films, respectively.
